Healing Resources

On this page I want to share some of the resources that have been most supportive on my own healing journey, and provide links to other practitioners, podcasts and information you may wish to explore. Lifestyle Resources - Foundation

We all know the things we’re supposed to do to live a healthier life, but we’re not properly taught to do these things, and the modern lifestyle does not prioritise these or necessarily make it easy. A lot of us (including me when I began) are so disconnected from our bodies that we cannot even tune in to what feels good, healthful and nourishing, or the opposite. However, taking an active interest in your lifestyle and treating your food, your movement patterns, your sleep, and your routines, as medicine, has a hugely underestimated healing power, and was how I first started along this path. By educating yourself, and finding and implementing the right changes for you, then feeling better and better because of it, you will likely gain so much more motivation and sense of self achievement, empowering yourself to continue.

It only takes small steps, even just dedicating 5 minutes a day, to feel a huge shift and train these neuromuscular pathways to develop new habits.

Feel Better, Live More by Dr Rangan Chatterjee

This is a really great podcast which educated and inspired me to start making more healthful choices in my life. He has a whole range of experts on in the fields of health and wellness, and has also written some really great books including Feel Better in 5, how you can use just 5 minutes a day to really support your wellbeing.

One of his best episodes (in my opinion):

Episode 26 Why We Sleep with Matthew Walker, https://drchatterjee.com/episode-26-sleep-matthew-walker-part-1/

This podcast changed my life and made me realise the fundamental importance sleep has to every aspect of our lives. Listen to learn more about sleep and how to support yourself to sleep better.

Tony Riddle - The Natural Lifestylist

Tony Riddle is another voice in the health and wellness world who I believe shares a very important message, sharing ways of living that are more in sync with our human biology to help us thrive in this modern world. He has helped and inspired me massively, and covers everything from movement to diet to natural parenting to the importance of natural light - ‘sky time vs screen time’ - to impact our biology. He has a particular focus on rewilding our bodies and movement patterns towards those more functional and natural for our physiology (and therefore less injury-prone), and runs online movement classes which are brilliant - access by signing up to the NatLifeTribe on his website. He’s also written an awesome book called Be More Human and is generally a really down to earth and inspiring man.

Movement - Parkrun

Parkrun is a free event which runs all over the UK, and the world, and is such a good way to get outside, get some movement in, and connect with your local community. A free, organised, 5km running or walking course held in parks or nature reserves, 9am every Saturday morning. Start your weekend in a beautiful way by getting out on a Saturday morning, you can gather your friends or family, get the feel-good endorphins from exercise and natural light, then go for a coffee/tea or brunch after and connect. Highly recommended!
